Schwarzbach from the source to the mouth

Stories Along the Way Along the Lobbach and Schwarzbach - the two largest tributaries of the Elsenz. We ride up the Lobbach Valley to Haag. From there, we continue to Schwanheim and then to the source of the Schwarzbach above Neunkirchen, the highest point of the tour. In June 1994, the worst storm in the region triggered a flood disaster. The Schwarzbach has a large catchment area in the small Odenwald. Since then, numerous measures, such as retention basins, have been built along its entire course to its confluence with the Elsenz. There are flood markers at various locations. After 30 years, it is hard to imagine how high the water level was back then. Nevertheless, the Schwarzbach has remained a very picturesque stream. There is much to discover in nature. A stop at an inn is possibly planned. Cycling tour suitable for pedelecs or sporty mountain bikers. Start/End: Meckesheim, exact meeting point upon registration.
