Ulrich Michael Heissig - Unfortunately Piefke

A humorous-satirical evening with Viennese songs, poems, and stories. From the perspective of a German who has moved here. Heissig, a Berlin cabaret artist, author, and director – known in the German-speaking world as the man behind the artistic persona “Irmgard Knef,” the fictional sister of Hildegard Knef – has been a resident of Vienna for several years. Heissig tells, reads, and sings as an integration-minded German in Vienna about his associations, experiences, observations, and linguistic confusions. He gathered his experiences between Café Central and the Central Cemetery, Simmering and Semmering, as well as Trallala and Hopsasa in Oberlaa and Unterlaa. With songs like “Ger-mansplainer,” “The Vienna River Anthem,” or “Like a Heating Sponge in August,” the “Muaterl Song,” and many more, he enriches the Viennese song tradition with new lyrics and melodies. The only flaw: unfortunately, he’s a Piefke.
