THE EARTHLY ONES

With THE EARTHLY ONES, NOVA once again creates a world that not only tells a story but is also played out in collaboration with the audience. Inspired by station theater, streaming series, computer games, and escape rooms, NOVA, as the first immersive theater collective in Lower Austria, combines various genres into a unique, walkable event theater universe. The historic Tribuswinkel Castle becomes a character in the new production, which takes place in April 2026 – a multifaceted labyrinth of memories, secrets, and decisions that have repercussions across generations.

Visitors move through back rooms, courtyards, cellars, and tower rooms alongside the 18 performers, overhearing conversations behind doors, encountering unexpected meetings, and suddenly finding themselves in moments that would otherwise remain hidden. In over seventy mostly parallel intimate scenes, an interactive experience mosaic is created, which each person experiences differently. Some moments are quiet, while others provoke questions, statements, or decisions. What is revealed – and what remains unsaid – also depends on the guests' willingness to engage.

THE EARTHLY ONES, written by Lower Austrian Florian Neumann, tells the story of Priest Heinrich Angerer (Norbert Holoubek) and the people who make their own personal decisions – an epic of faith, responsibility, and the longing for truth. However, NOVA does not tell it linearly, but immersively, directly, and always with surprises: reality and fiction merge, time becomes permeable, and the castle itself carries memories that reshape as soon as the audience enters.

Thus, THE EARTHLY ONES becomes a collective experience that each person writes individually: an atmospheric evening full of intimacy, tension, and emotional depth – and a theater that only becomes complete when the guests become part of the story.
