Powerful Femininity in Jazz Attire
"Drive," the current project by Katrin Weber and her band, is anything but ordinary: original compositions — settings of female poetry — and favorite songs are performed in German.
Alongside singer, composer, and pianist Katrin Weber, renowned representatives of Austrian jazz take the stage. The unusual blend of jazz, blues, chanson, and Brazilian rhythms is passionate, captivating, and above all, authentic. This music expresses the primal force of female creativity, which — after a certain age — is no longer willing to compromise. Or, as Rose Ausländer puts it in the song "You are still here, throw your fear into the air."
The audience will not be able to escape the magical effect of "Drive." Especially since Katrin Weber, as an experienced music cabaret artist and improvisational theater musician, knows how to involve her audience in the show.

Katrin Weber
Katrin Weber was born in Tuttlingen, Germany. She has been living in Vienna since 1995 and works as a singer, composer, and pianist.
Her professional music career began after her music studies with the music cabaret group Die Niederträchtigen, with over 600 performances. She toured for years with her women's jazz trio, the Katrin Weber Trio, and the duo Weber+Kirberg.
As a composer and arranger, she made a name for herself in various theater productions and for different ensembles (Theater in der Josefstadt, Landestheater Linz, Theater der Jugend, Vienna). She has worked with Kirk Lightsey, Benny Golson, and the Ensemble Pro Brass.
