The Portland, Oregon-based artist Kendall Lujan released her first album, Lucky Penny. After her self-titled debut EP, she gained attention from NPR’s Tiny Desk, MTV, Rolling Stone Germany, and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. In 2024, she was named one of the best newcomer bands in Portland by Willamette Weekly and has already performed with artists such as Amos Lee, Frazey Ford, Allie Crow Buckley, Early James, and The Magnetic Fields. Lucky Penny blends jazz, folk, bossa nova, and indie rock. The first single, Goodbyes, addresses loss, separation, and personal growth. Lujan describes it as a reminder that despite farewells, the right people remain.
