Leif de Leeuw Band (NL)

Leif de Leeuw and his fantastic band are among the hottest Southern rock acts in Europe and are winners of the German Record Award 2024. With two grooving drummers, jazzy organ playing, and the distinctive voice of guitarist and singer Sem Jansen, the band creates its own incredibly dense sound in the style of the Allman Brothers.

With six musicians on stage, the band delivers a show featuring breathtaking guitar solos, two dueling drummers, and roaring Hammond sounds, where improvisation takes center stage in powerful songs. Over the past ten years, the band has built an international reputation through tours in Europe, America, and China, and they are winners of the German Record Award 2024 in the Blues/Rock category.

While the Leif de Leeuw Band clearly has its musical roots in blues rock, since the combo led by the multiple award-winning guitarist Leif de Leeuw expanded from a quartet to a sextet for a live project featuring the music of the Allman Brothers Band a few years ago, it has become one of the hottest Southern rock acts in Europe.

The formation consists of two drummers, Hammond, bass, two electric guitars, and the beautifully rough voice of Sem. Each song allows room for improvisation, ensuring that no performance by the band is ever the same.

The sound is a fine blend of rock, blues, Americana, country, and Southern rock with sincere lyrics and a lovely '70s touch. For fans of the Allman Brothers Band, DeWolff, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Little Feat, Warren Haynes, Gov’t Mule, and Derek and the Dominos, seeing a performance by the Leif de Leeuw Band is a must.
