Sculptures made of wire and plaster with Anja Riese by Kunst in Szene 64

In this workshop, we will be inspired by Alberto Giacometti and create and shape a human body in a reduced form. Starting with a wire frame, we will develop slender, fragile sculptures that will then be modeled with plaster. The focus is not on realistic representation, but on expression, posture, and presence. What to expect: development of your own figure, individual guidance, and creative freedom. The course is aimed at people who enjoy working in three dimensions. No prior knowledge is required. At the end of the workshop, you will take home your sculpture, which will be about 35-40 cm tall. All materials are included in the workshop. Please bring an apron and an empty screw-top jar for storing paint.

With Anja Ries. The autodidact came to work with plaster through her Nana courses. For the past 10 years, she has been offering workshops to create Nanas freely inspired by Niki de Saint Phalle in a small studio (Nana Manufaktur) in Hausach. In her engagement with various artists, she encountered works by A. Giacometti in an art exhibition in 2016. Fascinated by his work, she wants to show how much expression can lie in simple, reduced forms. Interested? Sign up!
