ELMO NERO was founded in 2022 by Gina Schwarz and Christoph Helm. The following year, the exceptional bassist, composer, and Hans Koller Prize winner, along with the guitarist who virtuously combines various currents of popular music in his playing, released their debut album, which was enthusiastically received by both critics and audiences.

Since June 2025, Chris Parker has been on drums: having moved from the USA to Vienna in 2023, he quickly became one of the busiest musicians in the local jazz scene and perfectly complements the dynamic and genre-open sound of the band with his multifaceted and tasteful playing.

The recently recorded second studio album documents the continuous development of the trio and makes another strong statement filled with musical surprises.
