Simon Plötzeneder Quartet

The Upper Austrian jazz trumpeter Simon Plötzeneder dedicates his current album "Vienna Vibes" to his long-time home, Vienna. After his debut "145th & St. Nick’s," a personal homage to New York, he now focuses on the musical energy and diversity of the Austrian capital.
His education took him from Linz and Vienna to the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he worked with renowned musicians such as Scott Wendholt, Joe Magnarelli, Phil Markowitz, and Dave Liebman. A particular highlight was his collaboration with jazz legend Joe Zawinul.
Active internationally, Plötzeneder has performed with Randy Brecker among others and has been involved in numerous prestigious ensembles and big bands, including the NDR Bigband, the Richard Oesterreicher Big Band, and the Upper Austrian Jazz Orchestra.
