For more than a quarter of a century, Golling has hosted music, literature, and culinary delights every summer in the best of neighborly harmony. Similar to old Vienna, where the great masters of music lived side by side in an unparalleled density. Among them were Schubert, Lanner, and Johann Strauss Sr., followed by the sons of the latter and Brahms. Later, the Schrammel brothers and a few others joined in. “And so lives my neighbor lady and just as I live/ The whole year and every day in purest harmony.” This beautiful line from a Viennese song from the legendary album by E. Kremser, with text and music by J.B. Moser, will also be performed in this concert, sung by a special musician: Günter Haumer, baritone and “on the side” button accordion player, embodies the rare symbiosis of vocal and instrumental music.
