Mercedes Echerer places Rozsanéni, a woman on the fringes of society, at the center of her evening. "Rozsanéni became part of our family even before I was born. I never asked how she came to us back then, and today I can no longer ask anyone. She always stayed for a few months, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter; I don’t know where she was in between, and at some point, she just stopped coming. A round, ancient woman, always dressed in black, had an almost inexhaustible repertoire of songs and life advice, and one could really cry on her bosom. Especially in matters of love. I thought I knew her secrets, but she revealed her most important one to me very late. Telling Rozsanéni's story became a concern for me, also a political one."
