The Marriage of Figaro - Opera Festival 2026

by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart 240 years after its premiere at the Theater an der Wien, "Le Nozze di Figaro" comes to Bad Hall as the third opera in the Mozart Cycle in cooperation with the International Mozart Academy of the Anton Bruckner Private University. Over 120 of the most beautiful young voices from 35 nations will gather for the Mozart Competition in September 2025 in Bad Hall. Special prizes in the form of engagements for "Figaro" will also be awarded at the public final (September 6, 6:00 PM). The two previous productions, "Die Zauberflöte" and "Cosi fan tutte," were celebrated by audiences and critics alike. In the Bad Hall version of "Figaro," the arias will be sung in the original Italian, while accompanying recitatives and subtitles will be presented in German. The musical direction will be in the experienced hands of Matthias Achleitner, who, together with his OÖ. Philharmonie, will bring Mozart's masterpiece to life.
