A successful architect designs a glass holiday home for himself and his family in 1964, which will be destroyed over 60 years later. The house: a place for multiple generations, where different generations discuss, argue, celebrate, and love one another. But it is also a place where lies are told, secrets are kept, and battles are fought without regard for the consequences. In the holiday home, family is experienced as both an oasis and a prison. Simon Stone stages a grand family epic: he processes themes and motifs from the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen and has developed a new version of his play IBSEN HUIS for the BURG, which he premiered in Amsterdam in 2017.
