Marie Spaemann moves unconventionally between classical, soul, and jazz. From the Prélude by Gaspar Cassadó to Hebrew folk songs, Arabic love poetry, and her own songs, she tells stories that touch and surprise with her cello, loop station, her distinctive voice, and this time even with an ensemble(!). Following her album Gap (2019), which made rifts visible, the new EP Both seemingly brings together opposing worlds. Inspired by the creativity of her Berlin great-grandmother, the search for trust in the unknown, and the discovery of her West African roots, she draws strength and hope for encounters in an increasingly complex world. Marie Spaemann confidently navigates between grand stages and experimental projects: from the cello concert op. 37 with the Norddeutsche Philharmonie to performances at the Konzerthaus Vienna, Manhattan, Dubrovnik, Geneva, and South Korea, as well as the opening of the Vienna Festival Weeks in 2019. In addition, she collaborated with the electro-swing producer Dunkelbunt, performed with Christoph Pepe Auer, and accompanied Nikolaus Habjan. Most recently, she was a soloist in The World Of Hans Zimmer. Marie Spaemann - voice, cello, loop station, ensemble tba.
