Baba Yaga takes the audience on a journey through various countries and cultures: songs are performed in Greek, Serbian, Romani, Hebrew, Italian, and English. The pieces consciously break down boundaries between old and new, far and near, wild and tender. The sound remains pure and authentic: violin, double bass, guitar, vocals, accordion, and percussion—what more do you need? The title "Boundless" also refers to the deliberate breaking of musical as well as political-geographical boundaries. The multicultural band, whose members come from Austria, Montenegro, and Israel, aims to connect rather than exclude.
The repertoire ranges from wild Balkan pieces, klezmer tunes, lively swing, gypsy jazz, and oriental dances to contemporary compositions that are composed, reinterpreted, and arranged by the band itself, leaving plenty of room for free improvisation. Because Baba Yaga loves boundless freedom. She truly captivates all the senses of her audience and lures them into unpredictable, dangerous realms. There, dreams are dreamed, songs are sung, and celebrations take place, just as Baba Yaga likes it best.
"Boundaries do not exist in reality, only in our minds. The musical language knows no boundaries and works without words. We seek the unifying, we want to connect, to celebrate the joyful sides of life and peaceful coexistence through music. Baba Yaga lives without boundaries."
