Lower Austria State Exhibition and Benedictine Abbey Seitenstetten

The Landesklinikum Mauer, with its extraordinary Art Nouveau architecture and unique history, has been selected as the venue for the NÖ Landesausstellung 2026. The exhibition at the Landesklinikum addresses the societal approach to mental illnesses over time. It is a bold and respectful gesture, as it places a location that has been synonymous with the treatment of mental suffering in Lower Austria for 120 years at the center of the state exhibition. For the first time, a state exhibition will take place in a state clinic while it is still in operation. This aligns with the intention of the Landesklinikum to provide an open and transparent approach to the topic. At the same time, this openness requires sensitivity in dealing with this special place, the individuals seeking treatment and residing there, as well as the staff. The Landesausstellung aims to make an important contribution to the destigmatization of mental illnesses and to support those affected and their families, while also establishing the Mostviertel as a health region with diverse cultural and health tourism offerings.

2:00 PM Tour at the Benedictine Abbey of Seitenstetten, the Four-Cornered House of God.
Visit the Abbey of Seitenstetten with a knowledgeable guide, followed by a tour of the historic courtyard garden. During the tour, you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of the abbey and learn interesting facts about its history and life in the monastery.
Afterwards, we will visit a cider tavern.
