"The Jubilee Concert" Wolfgang Haffner – drums | Simon Oslender – keys | Thomas Stieger - bass Wolfgang Haffner, the brilliant drummer and two-time ECHO Jazz Award winner, is internationally regarded as the most successful German drummer. He has been involved in more than 400 albums, performed 4000 concerts in 100 countries, and collaborated with Pat Metheny, Till Brönner, Nils Landgren, Al Jarreau, Klaus Doldinger, Chaka Khan, Michael Brecker, and many others. At just 18 years old, he played in the band of Albert Mangelsdorff. He is a musical all-round talent, a leader who enjoys accompanying others, an instrumentalist who loves to compose, and a master of nuance on the drums. In 2026, Wolfgang Haffner will celebrate both his 60th birthday and an impressive 50 years of stage presence. Together with his musical companions, the shooting star of the German jazz scene Simon Oslender (WDR Jazz Prize 2025) and the sought-after session musician Thomas Stieger, they create the typical Haffner sound, the unmistakable combination of driving grooves, beautiful melodies, and exuberant joy of playing, presenting classics, new works, and musical milestones from a unique career in the "Jubilee Year." Wolfgang Haffner is Germany's "best" (Die Welt), "coolest" (ARD ttt) drummer, as well as the "most important drummer of his generation" (Süddeutsche Zeitung), and a master of atmosphere, groove, and flow.
