Wiener Blond & the Original Wiener Salon Ensemble

Verena Doublier and Sebastian Radon have been singing, beatboxing, playing, and composing their way through everyday life and into the hearts of their audience for twelve years. Alongside their spectacular live performances, their surprising lyrics have become as much of a trademark as their musical versatility.

The duo started in 2012 as a beatbox groove duo, creating songs about everyday adventures in the subway, the benefits of a late-night scrambled egg dish, or the bland habit of mixing good wine with soda—armed only with a loop station, a guitar, and a cajón. In 2015, they released their debut album "Der Letzte Kaiser," which made waves beyond the borders of Vienna and Austria. The follow-up, "ZWA," was presented in 2016 at the Vienna Musikverein, where they shared the stage for a few songs with the seven-member internationally composed formation of the "Original Wiener Salonensembles." This collaboration proved to be quite fruitful: after several concerts and a tour across Austria, they released the joint live album "endlich salonfähig!" in 2019, followed by the studio album "Sinfonien im Souterrain" in the fall of 2023—both productions were nominated for an Amadeus Music Award in the "Jazz/World/Blues" category.

The melodies and string sounds of this salon-capable era made way for more grooves, loops, and electronics on the long player "Bis in der Früh," released in 2020. However, the common thread throughout every musical phase of the band is always the Viennese accent, which the duo celebrates with both humor and charm.
