Hidden gem: the sacristy

The furnishings, adorned with magnificent carvings, pay homage to St. Bernard of Clairvaux as well as to the room’s primary purpose: to prepare the priest for the celebration of Holy Mass.
The large ceiling painting—by an unknown artist—consists of eight interconnected scenes and is accompanied by four smaller paintings.
Jörg Paczkowski, the former director of the Wertheim County Museum, aptly describes these paintings with the following words: “The paintings in the Bronnbach sacristy speak of sacrifice, charity, and hope; of forgiveness; and of the power and grace of God, while also highlighting the conduct of the clergy and their duties.”
