VENEREA | The Swedish skate-punk icons are finally back in Austria! There is no sign of aging fatigue even after thirty-five years of band history, and it is impressive how "youthful" and fresh the four Swedes – who can be confidently referred to as "skate-punk icons" – still sound today and how consistently they pursue their thing. Founded in 1991, they, along with MILLENCOLIN, NO FUN AT ALL, and the SATANIC SURFERS, helped establish their Scandinavian homeland as an absolute melodycore stronghold. On their current album, aptly titled "Euro Trash," the band relies on their well-known strengths: classic, fast, and straightforward skatecore anthems in the US West Coast style, reminiscent of PENNYWISE, LAGWAGON, or early NO USE FOR A NAME, with breakneck riffs, high-speed drumming, and energetic background vocals that would also suit STRIKE ANYWHERE or STRUNG OUT.
