Johnny & the Yooahoos

Since 2018, Johnny & the Yooahoos have been bringing fresh air to the European bluegrass and folk scene. What started as performances on small stages in southern Germany has now taken the four musicians to international festivals in France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Austria, and Switzerland. In 2025, they achieved their biggest milestone yet: as winners of the IBMA International Band Grant, the Yooahoos toured the USA for five weeks, with legendary stops such as the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in New York.

Musically, the Yooahoos focus on pure acoustic sound: banjo, mandolin, guitar, double bass, and three-part harmonies merge into a sound that connects tradition and modernity. Sometimes energetic and raw, sometimes lyrical and atmospheric – but always authentic, approachable, and captivating.

Whether on festival stages, in clubs, or at open-air events, Johnny & the Yooahoos take their audience on a journey between nostalgic bluegrass and contemporary folk, full of passion, joy of playing, and unmistakable charm.
