DAS FEST is one of the largest open-air events in Germany, attracting up to 260,000 visitors. It has been held annually at the Günther-Klotz-Park in Karlsruhe since 1985, at the end of July. Well-known artists such as Rea Garvey, Clueso, The BossHoss, Seeed, Peter Fox, Max Giesinger, Juli, Silbermond, Wanda, Faithless, PUR, Fury in the Slaughterhouse, Element of Crime, Apocalyptica, Guano Apes, New Model Army, Tito & Tarantula, Bananafishbones, BAP, Such A Surge, Gentleman, Chumbawamba, H-Blockx, Ska-P, Fünf Sterne deluxe, Simple Minds, Beatsteaks, Sunrise Avenue, Die Fantastischen Vier, and Denyo have all performed at "Mount Klotz" over the years. The goal pursued by the organizers is distinctly different from that of other major German festivals, as they aim to engage and entertain all segments of the population, regardless of age and income. There is a children's and cultural area where kids can play, splash around, and experience small adventures under supervision. The sports area hosts the annual FEST Cup for skateboarding and fingerboarding. For sports enthusiasts, the sports area offers a variety of additional activities. Intergenerational offerings include the FEST Café, the cultural stage, and the classical breakfast on the main stage on Sunday mornings. The mix of young and old creates the unique "FEST atmosphere," which is praised and appreciated by many visitors. You can find the complete program and lineup at www.dasfest.de.
