Heinrich del Core - Hooray, my wife is going to be a grandmother!

On February 20, Heinrich del Core will perform with his new program "Yay, My Wife is Becoming a Grandma" at the Stadthalle in Haslach. Or to put it another way: his wife is becoming a grandma! The new situation turns everything upside down. Overnight, Del Core's world is different. He buys a stroller that costs as much as a moped used to, and today, a Thermomix. He downloads baby apps for his wife and bakes mother cakes for family coffee gatherings. Then there's a wedding, environmentally conscious and vegan. But real joy doesn't quite come when one is supposed to throw unpeeled whole grain rice at the couple. However, many problems seem to vanish into thin air when it comes to grandparents. For example, the bedroom: how often has restful sleep been interrupted by his wife's cold feet, the constant battle for the blanket, or because the husband competes with a leaf blower in terms of noise and air pressure? When the grandchild comes to visit on the weekend, Heinrich just has to move out. Naturally, this takes a toll on his self-esteem. And doesn’t “grandpa” sound really old? He actually feels younger—except in the mornings when getting up. Sometimes his joints make noises then. But his wife always lifts his spirits: “Heinrich, you’re really fit.” In fact, she seems to cope with the new situation much better. She says, “Being a grandma is like being a mom—only better.” She has never thought about getting older. Once, she left a note for the kids: “We are at the cemetery.” And Heinrich added underneath: “But we’ll be back.” Yet despite all the changes in his life, this program is a typical Heinrich Del Core evening, because he says himself: “My wife is becoming a grandma, but I’ll stay the same.”
