A mass by the Polish bel canto composer Moniuszko opens this atmospheric forest concert, which is performed by the mixed choir of the Krakow Philharmonic, a brass band, and a horn ensemble, along with soloists from the festival. Surprising scenic and musical effects will animate the forest around the barbecue area on the Summer Mountain, including some German premieres of pieces that Rossini specifically conceived as open-air numbers.
