Jutes' music stands out with raw, emotional lyrics and a versatile sound influenced by pop, nu metal, post-hardcore, alternative R&B, lo-fi, and hip-hop. In his songs, the Canadian artist sings about themes such as mental health, heartbreak, and personal growth, which resonates with many fans worldwide due to his authenticity. His song "Sleepyhead" from the album of the same name is his most successful track to date, with over 43 million streams on Spotify, showcasing Jutes' unique voice, an atmospheric 2000s alternative vibe, and modern metal influences. Beyond music, the 34-year-old has also made headlines, having been married to singer and actress Demi Lovato since May 2025. His new album "Dilworth" was released in early November 2025, further drifting Jutes' previous singles into darker and heavier realms. As part of the accompanying Far From Dilworth Tour, Jutes will perform at the MTC in Cologne, at Betty in Hamburg, and at Mikropol in Berlin in May 2026.
Jordan Lutes originally aspired to become a professional basketball player but found his true calling in music. He debuted in 2015 with his first single and experimented with pop, hip-hop, and alternative R&B in subsequent songs. In 2016, he achieved his first major success with the song "Cocaine Cinderella" and continued to release more singles until 2020, showcasing his versatile sound. In 2021, Jutes expanded this sound for the first time in full length with his debut album "Careful What You Wish For." With his second album "Ladybug," the singer introduced elements of alternative rock and pop-punk in 2023, further shaping his sound. With "Sleepyhead," the Canadian musician finally found his modern rock sound and celebrated the biggest successes of his career with the title track, as well as "Obsessed" and "Vertigo." His new album "Dilworth" also follows a guitar-heavy approach that sounds even more refined than before. On the songs "Left on Dilworth" and "rucifixxx," Jutes channels influences from Sleep Token and Bad Omens, following the Deftones-influenced alternative metal vibes of his "Sleepyhead" album. Additionally, "Red Velvet" featuring Ari Abdul has become the next fan favorite, impressing with its bombastic alternative vibe and grand chorus. For many of his fans, it's only a matter of time before Jutes celebrates a breakthrough in the modern metal scene and leaves behind his still ongoing status as an underground gem.
