PÖetry Slam

St. Pölten is getting a new stage for everything that language can achieve.
On April 23rd at 7 PM, the PÖetry Slam will celebrate its premiere at Freiraum St. Pölten – an evening where poetry, performance, and audience come together.
This modern and widely popular pop literature format is finally making its way directly to the heart of Lower Austria. Three stars from the German-speaking poetry slam scene will provide wordplay, linguistic acrobatics, and goosebump-inducing stories, while a singer/songwriter feature will give the evening a musical soul.
But it’s not just the stage that plays a major role; the audience does too:
Those who have the courage can secure a spot on stage through an open list – the draw will take place live. Furthermore, the audience will act as a jury and determine who ultimately gets to go home as the winner.
The series will be moderated by Katharina Wenty, an award-winning spoken word artist, moderator, and founder of the association Poetry slam’md – Association for Performing Arts, Literature, and Youth Culture.
The PÖetry Slam is more than a competition of words – it is an invitation to experience language anew: loud, quiet, funny, lyrical – and those are just the words that start with L!
