Lecture: The Forest and the Climate

Our Forest in Meßkirch: Patient in Climate Change or Part of the Solution? Data and facts about the development of our forest at our doorstep, its current condition, its function as a carbon sink, and the threats posed by climate change shed light on the complex ecosystem of the forest. The speaker, Stefan Kopp, provides answers to frequently asked questions and presents ways to actively adapt our forest to climate change. Stefan Kopp, born in 1960, studied forestry in Freiburg and has worked on forestry projects in Brazil, California, and Romania. In the state forestry administration, he held various positions as an advisor at the Ministry of Agriculture and at forestry offices in Southern Baden, in the Swabian-Franconian Forest, and most recently as the head of the forestry authority in the district of Sigmaringen. He has been actively involved for many years as a nature conservation officer and served as a contact person for forestry issues for the district association.
