Ernest & The Hemingways

Rock, soul, and funk for dancing, new and old songs by Wilson Pickett, Louis Prima, or the Blues Brothers, Santana, Huey Lewis and The News, Brian Setzer Orchestra, along with good old tracks from Blood Sweat & Tears, Chicago, or Frank Sinatra, spiced up with a brass show for the eyes, newly arranged hits by the Beatles, as well as self-arranged pieces - Ernest and the Hemingways present themselves to their audience with unbridled joy of playing. Founded in the year of our Lord 1973, the band has been performing countless gigs in clubs and halls since 1989 in almost unchanged line-up after some lineup changes and name changes (SSPB, Backstairs). They are present at city festivals and open-air festivals. The CD "The Old Man and the Band" has long become a cult classic - a live recording and some studio tracks that bring the energetic sound and catchy arrangements of the ten musicians directly and compactly into the smallest venue. Ernest and the Hemingways means in plain terms: • a tight rhythm section, • a turbo blast with two trumpets and three saxophones - in horns we trust - • and of course the old gentleman with the black voice himself: Ernie the Paleface - who now also reads his lyrics from memory.
