Stargazing in the marketplace

As part of the Bad Mergentheim Light Worlds, the big stargazing event will take place for the fourth time in the marketplace. In collaboration with the Weikersheim Astronomical Association, the city invites everyone to a fascinating afternoon and evening that brings the moon and stars close to both young and old. The Weikersheim Astronomical Association has been operating an observatory on the Karlsberg in Weikersheim for over 45 years. Usually, interested individuals come there to observe the starry sky through large telescopes. However, for the Bad Mergentheim Light Worlds, mobile telescopes will be brought to the marketplace of the spa town, and they will also be available for questions and explanations. Stargazing will begin at 2 PM. Depending on the weather, it is planned to offer visitors a view of the sun through a special telescope while it is still daylight. Throughout the afternoon, the focus will then be on the moon, before the stars take center stage after nightfall. Admission is free, and no registration is required. The event will be canceled in case of rain.
