Gann Antonin Dvorak's "Stabat Mater" op. 58 is one of the most impressive romantic oratorios. The creation of the work is marked by severe personal tragedies in Dvorak's life - the death of his three children. The text is based on a 13th-century poem in which Mary mourns the death of her son on the cross. Dvorak found solace in this text, and thus the "Stabat Mater" is perhaps his most heartfelt work - characterized by deep faith.
