Brettacher, Gewürzluike, and Kardinal Bea are just melodious names to you so far? We want to change that! Dive into the tasteful world of pomology with us and learn the basics of identifying the most common regional apple varieties. Tasting, smelling, and sampling are, of course, part of the experience. You will also learn which variety can be used for what purpose, which tree might be standing on your property, and which variety is particularly suitable for replanting. You are also welcome to bring apples for (joint) identification. We look forward to an entertaining and educational day with you and our speaker Thilo Tschersich. The seminar provides basic knowledge for identifying the most common apple varieties in the region. We will learn methods for variety identification, such as identifying characteristics and identification literature. Afterwards, we will collectively identify and discuss regional varieties. Please bring the "Color Atlas of Old Fruit Varieties" (Ulmer Verlag) as identification literature to the seminar.
