Ski tours in Iceland, Norway, and the Black Forest

On several trips for ski touring at the Arctic Circle, the mountain guide Franz Füß was able to experience the magic of the North. Two of the trips went to Northern Norway, and one to Iceland. The combination of white mountains directly by the deep blue sea and vast slopes for descents is nearly indescribable. Reindeer, the volcanic landscape of Iceland with its thermal springs and waterfalls, the fjord landscapes of the Lofoten, as well as the play of colors of the Northern Lights at night make these trips unforgettable experiences. However, even close to home, on the peaks of the Black Forest, ski tourers can find many interesting tour options when snow conditions are right. In the heights of the Black Forest, it is often the deepest winter, with snow and ice transforming the landscape into a fairy-tale world. From the summit of Feldberg, with good visibility and a bit of luck, the Alpine chain up to Mont Blanc can be seen.
