Friday at 5 | The Heiligkreuz Quarter – A Hidden Gem

A hidden gem and a piece of Tisner history.
There was already a settlement in Heiligkreuz before the city of Feldkirch was founded. Early on, it had the only crossing over the Ill River. Until the 19th century, Heiligkreuz was an important stopover for horse-drawn carriages and travelers. As a result, several inns and craft businesses were established here. The Heiligkreuz Chapel, built in 1380, was donated by Count Rudolf V of Montfort for his safe return from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. In 1896, the parcel of Heiligkreuz was sold to the city of Feldkirch, marking an important step in the development of Greater Feldkirch. During this tour, we will search for the sights and learn interesting stories about this former parcel of Tisis.
