The children's group of Theater Waldkirch e.V. presents the play "King Drosselbart" under the direction of Rebecca Schoch and Sophie Haberstroh. Fairy tale time from children for children. On January 24, 2026, the children's theater group of Theater Waldkirch e.V. will start performances of the fairy tale "King Drosselbart." King Drosselbart - the fairy tale about the proud princess 'Spitzzunge' and King Drosselbart, who falls in love with her despite her arrogance. Disguised as a beggar, he manages to bring the spoiled princess down from her high horse. She must accompany him, sleep in a simple hut, and sell pots at the market. Through living in poverty, he awakens her compassion for the common people and teaches her to appreciate the value of work. The helpless King Alfons, in his father role, has his court jester, who must serve as a town crier, maid substitute, and spy depending on the situation, secretly accompany the princess. In H. Schnitzler's version, the Brothers Grimm fairy tale is transformed into a play for children aged five and up, as well as for the whole family, performed by 13 actors under the direction of Rebecca Schoch and Sophie Haberstroh.
