Winter Sports Swap and Sale, Sunday Shopping Day from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. This event is all about buying, selling, and swapping winter sports gear. Sports stores will adjust newly purchased skis and snowboards to fit their owners free of charge. The “Brettlimarkt” in Emmendingen has been around since 1973. Combined with a Sunday shopping day, it’s likely not only one of the oldest but also one of the largest markets of its kind in the region. In the downtown area, private sellers can offer their ski gear, and professional vendors sell the latest equipment across more than 700 square meters of space. The event is complemented by a diverse selection of food and drink options. As if that weren’t enough, most shops in Emmendingen open their doors for the Sunday shopping day. The mascot “Der Fuchs” roams through the city and is available for photos with visitors. A carousel is set up on the small market square.  There is ample parking for cars and bicycles, and the train station and bus station are located in the immediate vicinity of downtown.
