Teachers' guided tour of the Karl Hofer exhibition

Free guided tour of the exhibition Karl Hofer. Registration required. Free guided tour of the exhibition focusing on educational offerings for school classes. The tour will take place with a minimum of five participants.

Karl Hofer (1878–1955) is considered one of the most independent painters of German modernism. He developed a distinctive visual language between New Objectivity and Magical Realism. The exhibition showcases over 60 paintings that present the key themes, aesthetic power, and the underlying human image in Hofer's art through examples from all phases of his work.
The exhibition on the 3rd floor of Schloss Achberg is complemented by paintings from artists of the Halle School, which show echoes of Hofer's painting, as well as works by Willi Baumeister. These pieces shed light on the reception of Hofer's work between 1945 and 1955 in both East and West.
The exhibition is a collaboration between the Arthouse Collection, the Moritzburg Art Museum Halle (Saale), Schloss Achberg, the Bietigheim-Bissingen Municipal Gallery, and the Rostock Art Hall.
