Luka Ljubas is praised for his open, honest musicality, his maturity, his unique tone, and his ease. He comes from a Croatian-Japanese family of musicians and was born in Vienna in 1996. He received his training from Arkadij Winokurow, Brian Finlayson, Gerhard Schulz, and Albena Danailova.
In September 2019, Luka Ljubas took a position as a first violinist in the Vienna State Opera Orchestra as well as with the Vienna Philharmonic. Since the 2020/2021 season, he has been the concertmaster of the 1st violins there. In 2022, he was admitted to the Society of the Vienna Philharmonic.
Luka Ljubas plays the violin "Abergavenny, ex-Kavakos" by Antonio Stradivari (1724), which is generously provided to him by Crystco Inc. in collaboration with the Nippon Violin Society.
