A virtuoso of the century, a poet at the piano, a wizard of the keys, and a phenomenon: The playing of the French pianist Alexandre Kantorow is at once highly thought-out and refreshingly spontaneous, contemplative and impulsive. The seamless technique combined with unfailing stylistic confidence in his piano playing solidifies his reputation as one of the greatest pianists of our time. At the age of 22, he won the prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019, securing not only the gold medal but also the Grand Prix, an award that has only been given three times in the history of the competition, which has been held since 1958.
