Theodor-Heuss-Allee 15, 28215 Bremen

The Bremen Easter Fair is a spring fair. Every year, one week before Good Friday, the spectacle takes place over a period of two weeks. Numerous attractions and treats provide pure enjoyment on an area of 50,000 square meters. The venue is the Bremen Bürgerweide, which is easily accessible as it is located directly behind Bremen's main train station. Around 21 rides and over 200 vendors attract more than a million visitors of various generations to the Easter Fair each year with their food stalls, beverage stands, and booths. Typically, a traditional opening fireworks display marks the beginning of the folk festival. In addition, there are other activities, such as live music, that provide entertainment and round out the program of the Easter Fair. The Easter folk festival first took place in 1928. Compared to the significantly older and larger Bremen Freimarkt, the Easter Fair is still a relatively "young" folk festival. Until 1940, the Easter Fair changed locations several times. Between 1941 and 1945, the event could not be opened or held due to World War II. In 1946, the folk festival finally took place again. The venue was for the first time the Bremen Bürgerweide. Since then, the Bremen Easter Fair and the Bremen Freimarkt, which takes place in the fall, have been held annually at the Bürgerweide.
