Sunday Matinee - The Craic

"The Craic" is a well-known term in Ireland: in Gaelic, it means "having fun and enjoying yourself" – and that's exactly what the band offers. The four musicians play Irish and Scottish folk music and sometimes also something from other genres. The band focuses on traditional Celtic folk music with songs, jigs, and reels, as well as folk music from other parts of Europe. True to Irish tradition, The Craic arranges tunes and songs that they like, that they have picked up or learned from musician friends and other bands. This results in very individual versions that are "same, same, but different."  This sometimes results in a Scottish piper's tune originally composed for 120 bagpipes ending up in an arrangement for flute/whistle, accordion, and guitar. Let yourself be surprised: "You may know the song or the tune, but may not the sound..."
