The play is about the notorious sports columnist Jeffrey Bernard, who was a heavy drinker, a womanizer, and, by his own admission, a terrible husband to each of his four wives for most of his life. But he was also extremely funny. Hanging out in Soho in the 1960s, surrounded by bohemians and old boys, drinking until the early hours of the morning, Bernard undoubtedly met some amazing people and had some great stories to tell.
