Jeffrey Bernard is unwell.

The play is about the infamous sports columnist Jeffrey Bernard, who was a heavy alcoholic for almost his entire life, a womanizer, and, by his own admission, a terrible husband to each of his four wives. But he was also extremely witty. While hanging out in Soho during the sixties, surrounded by bohemians and old boys, and drinking until the early morning hours, Bernard undoubtedly met some amazing people and had some great stories to tell. His friend Keith Waterhouse wrote a play about him that made Bernard a cult figure at the age of 57. Sitting at the bar, he begins to recount his autobiography through a night full of amusing anecdotes.
