The half marathon in Sigmaringen starts and ends at the marketplace in front of the historic town hall. It is complemented by relay races, a 7-kilometer run, as well as children's and toddler races, ensuring a varied running day in the city center. The half marathon organized by the Schwäbische Zeitung adds another event to the regional running calendar in Sigmaringen. The race is organized by the experienced team of the New Year's Eve run from LG Winterlingen, led by Alexander Paschke and Peter Rigöl. The start and finish of all competitions are located at the marketplace in front of the historic town hall, which serves as the central meeting point for the event. The focus is on the half marathon covering 21.1 kilometers. Additionally, a half marathon relay race is offered, where three runners share the distance in segments of seven kilometers each. There is also a 7-kilometer run, providing a more compact alternative to the longer distance. Separate competitions are planned for the younger participants as well. The Kids Runs for age groups U14, U12, U10, and U8 each cover a distance of approximately 1,500 meters. The toddler run, covering 320 meters, is aimed at the youngest participants and allows for a first, casual introduction to running. The routes run through the city area of Sigmaringen, combining athletic challenges with a varied environment. With the different distances, the relay option, and the children's races, a running event is created that appeals to both competitively ambitious participants as well as families and running enthusiasts, fitting well into the city life.
