Plot:

The envoy from Reuß-Greiz-Schleiz, Count Balduin Zedlau, has been sent to Vienna for some time and lives there with his lover, the dancer Franziska Cagliari, in his villa. His actual wife, Countess Gabriele Zedlau – a native Viennese – lives separately from him, as her husband has so far lacked the "Viennese blood." Meanwhile, the Count has been transformed into a Viennese rogue by his lover and his chamber servant Josef, nicknamed Pepi. After the Countess learns of this, she becomes curious and wants to personally witness her husband's antics. In the suburban villa, the Countess is surprised by the Prime Minister Prince Ybbsheim-Gindelsbach – the head of state of Reuß-Greiz-Schleiz – who mistakenly believes she is the mistress of his envoy and therefore introduces her as his wife to avoid any scandal.
