Samba Meets the Alpine Region

One does not always have to reinvent the world to create something great. Often, it is enough when two find each other that fit wonderfully together. This is exactly the case with the Austro Brazil Connection (ABC) and the Härtel Quintet. The Austro Brazil Connection is a fusion of Austrian melodic instruments and Brazilian percussion, which is unparalleled in this form. Alpine polkas and sambas meet traditional marches and blend with Brazilian off-beat rhythms. ABC unites South American joie de vivre with Central European musical tradition – music that touches the heart and does not let go!

Influenced by their folk music environment, a classical music education, and curiosity for musical dialects from around the world, the five musicians of the Härtel Quintet conjure up the most beautiful sounds from their instruments with creativity, harmony, and energy. The three Härtel siblings and their friends especially enjoy it when the audience swings their dancing legs and cheers with joy! And this is certainly not difficult with polkas, waltzes, dudlers, and the occasional Boarische from Vienna and Styria.
