An evening of concerts in the tension between polka and rock 'n' roll, taiga twist and Texas tango, between grime and schmaltz. In 1995, Austria, Sweden, and Finland joined the EU, Jacques Chirac became the French president, and Borussia Dortmund became German champions again after 32 years. Rory Gallagher and Konrad Zuse passed away, the DVD was invented, crop tops were in fashion, and the lovely song "Max Don’t Have Sex With Your Ex" was in the German charts. Many of the mentioned events have since been forgotten, trends have come and gone, inventions have become obsolete. However, the year 1995 remains memorable for us, as it was the founding year of the band HISS. Since then, they have been performing on water, land, and in the air, played 2,487 concerts, released 8 albums, appeared on countless TV shows, been showered with awards, convinced critics, and gained thousands of fans. Since then, these rascals have been traveling the world undeterred by all obstacles and dangers to bring us their mix of folk and ska, waltz and blues, polka and roll. While time may have etched a few lines on their faces, their music is still fresh, their performances are still full of energy, and their lyrics are a love letter to humor and life. In their anniversary year, HISS brings us a cross-section of 25 years of their work, featuring both classics and new material, danceable and thought-provoking, soft and loud, slow, fast, and very fast.
