Siri lives with her old father and her younger sister Miki on an island in the Arctic Ocean. One day, Siri leaves her little sister alone while picking berries and can only watch from a distance as the crew of the dangerous pirate Weißhaupt kidnaps little Miki. Siri sets out all alone to rescue Miki. Life is hard; they fish and gather berries to survive. Everyone fears Weißhaupt, the most dangerous man in the Arctic Ocean. Everyone knows that he makes small children work in the mines for him to become richer and richer. No one dares to stand in his way. Siri feels guilty about her sister's kidnapping. Therefore, she sets out all alone to rescue Miki. She signs on to the "Stormbird." The ship's cook, Frederik, becomes her friend, but the captain does not mean well for her and abandons her. But Siri does not give up. Undeterred, she continues her search. She encounters a hunter of ice wolves and a boy named Einar, whose mother is the strongest woman on the Arctic Ocean islands, as well as shady sailors. With courage, perseverance, and practical sense, she eventually finds the pirate's hideout. Will she succeed in putting an end to his activities? The award-winning Swedish author Frida Nilsson tells a breathtakingly thrilling adventure about friendship and courage in "Siri and the Arctic Pirates." In a child-friendly way, she also casually explores existential themes such as: Is it permissible to exploit animals and humans for one's own purposes? How does one confront their fears? And doesn’t everything one does leave its mark?
