Guided Tour of the Choir Stalls with Annemarie Heußlein
The participants will be given a closer look at the choir stalls based on the daily routine of the Cistercian monks. For them, the day began and ended in the choir stalls. According to the Rule of Saint Benedict, the monks gathered for prayer eight times a day, known as the Hours, starting at night and concluding with Compline in the evening. The lay brother Daniel Aschauer created the beautiful choir stalls around 1777 from oak wood, featuring a variety of intricate relief carvings with symbolic representations.
