Movement Theatre by Ceren Oran Age: 3+ A guest performance by the Landestheater Tübingen It all begins with the question: How do I do that? With insatiable curiosity, we take on the world. An inner drive moves us to try, to test, to explore boundaries. We attempt to walk, to speak, to interact with the world. But rarely does something succeed on the first try. We fall down. So we get back up and try again! By attempting what we cannot do, we discover what we can do. To try means to be brave enough to start and to allow ourselves to fail along the way. With the certainty that we can fail, we give ourselves the assurance that we can succeed. Every failure is a new experience, every mistake another discovery. Failing challenges us, makes us creative, and helps us grow. But how do we practice the courage to fail and how do we deal with disappointment when something doesn’t work out? For the youngest audience members, choreographer Ceren Oran, together with the ensemble of the Young LTT, develops a poetic movement piece about failure or 10,000 ways that didn’t work. With joy in play and a spirit of discovery, they explore the risk of trying and dare to challenge the challenge and dream dreams. Ceren Oran works internationally as a dancer and choreographer and has been creating dance theatre performances for young audiences since 2010. Her works are performed worldwide and invited to numerous festivals.
