Flona - Selfmade Feminist

FLONA was born in 1999, and since then she has been wondering what the hell is going on with this world. She has always been a nuisance because she constantly asks annoying questions like "Why?" The problem is: the answer is often "Because you are a girl" - an answer that is absolutely unacceptable to FLONA. The performer Denice Bourbon once referred to FLONA as a "self-made feminist." She responded to the many stories FLONA had told her about her upbringing in Al-Sukhnah, Syria, about life as a young refugee and woman of color in conservative Bavaria, as well as her fresh start in Vienna and the discovery of her queerness. From a very strict and conservative upbringing to her emancipation in adulthood, FLONA has forged her own path and developed her understanding of feminism through all these challenges.
