We walk from the parking lot for 5 minutes to the edge of the forest. After putting on our snowshoes, we head along a forest road towards the high moor. Here, we hike through a winter landscape with many clearings, offering us a beautiful view of the Wasenmoos and the Hohe Tauern, gaining about 200 meters in elevation. Once we reach the top, we can enjoy the view over a high moor towards the small Rettenstein before we hike back down. The path leads us alongside a small stream covered with ice crystals and across a stretch of open field, passing by a forest cemetery directly to the Hochmoorstüberl, where we can relax with local delicacies. After that, we walk along a snowy path to Wasenmoos, where we will check out the information stand before leisurely making our way back to the starting point.
